ALTA Nickel Conference 24-26 May 2010 Perth Western Australia

The Mount Thirsty Project is based on an oxide cobalt and nickel deposit located approximately 20 km north-west of Norseman in Western Australia. The deposit is owned 50% each by Barra Resources Ltd and Fission Energy Ltd. It is currently in the Pre-Feasibility Study stage of development with first production slated for 2015. A novel method for leaching the ore at atmospheric conditions was developed specifically for the Mt Thirsty ore body which has some unusual mineralogy compared to typical laterite deposits.
