Delivering Metallurgical Excellence for Brightstar’s Gold Projects

We’re proud to have partnered with Brightstar Resources to deliver comprehensive (Definitive Feasibility Study) DFS-level metallurgical testwork for their Lady Shenton, Cork Tree Well, Fish and Lord Byron gold projects in Western Australia.

Our involvement was central to the success of the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS). Led by Dr. Justin McGinnity, our team applied deep technical rigour and a collaborative approach across all phases of the program.

Key Metallurgical Scope Included:

  • Selection and preparation of master and variability composites across oxide, transitional and fresh ore types
  • Comminution and gravity recovery testwork
  • Cyanide leach optimisation, including grind size and reagent optimisation
  • Cyanide speciation and acid mine drainage (AMD) assessments

These results provided critical insights into gold recoveries, reagent usage, and leach conditions – empowering engineering consultants to design fit-for-purpose processing infrastructure. The success of this DFS highlights the importance of high-quality metallurgical input in de-risking and progressing mine development.

Supporting Strategic Development in Western Australia

The metallurgical data generated by IMO will inform ongoing and future studies, contributing to resource modelling, feasibility assessments, and downstream processing strategies.

At IMO, we specialise in unlocking value through independent metallurgical consulting and laboratory testwork, supporting miners and developers across the full project lifecycle –from early-stage scoping through to commercial production readiness.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Brightstar Resources and contributing to the success of their gold projects in Western Australia.
