We’re proud to be trusted by Lunnon Metals (ASX: LM8) to deliver high-impact metallurgical testwork for their Baker, 85H and Foster South nickel deposits in Western Australia’s renowned Kambalda nickel district.
Led by a Lunnon Metals’ consultant and executed by Andrew Dowling, IMO’s Principal Metallurgist, the program formed a critical part of Lunnon’s Scoping Study, assessing the suitability of these deposits for third-party processing, including Nickel West’s Kambalda Nickel Concentrator. Our involvement was central to validating the processing potential of these high-grade nickel sulphide resources.
Key Metallurgical Scope:
- Dedicated diamond drilling across all three deposits
- Flotation testwork to assess recovery, concentrate grade and impurity levels
- Evaluation of by-product credits including copper, cobalt, palladium and platinum
- Assessment of Fe:MgO ratios and arsenic levels to benchmark concentrate quality
Key Results
- Baker: Up to 95.9% nickel recovery, premium concentrate grades, low deleterious elements
- Foster 85H: 88.9% nickel recovery, strong by-product credits, low arsenic – aligned with historical mine performance
- Foster South: 91%+ recovery, concentrate grades up to 17.3% Ni, reinforcing future processing viability
Supporting Strategic Development
The metallurgical data generated by IMO will inform future feasibility studies, resource modelling and downstream processing strategies – helping de-risk development and support investment decisions.
At IMO, we specialise in independent metallurgical consulting and laboratory testwork across the full project lifecycle – from early-stage scoping to production readiness.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Lunnon Metals and contributing to the success of their nickel portfolio.
